3tera Applogic Integration
Tap In has implemented its management server as an AppLogic appliance that is accessible by the 3tera application editor catalog. This appliance has all capabilities of the Tap In management server, as well as an interface to the AppLogic MON appliance. This interface allows the Tap In management server to gather metric data from any AppLogic appliance across multiple grids via MON. A configuration page allows users to define alert thresholds which can turn any MON entity counter into an event on the the Tap In management server. The management server can then generate views and reports based on these AppLogic events. Events can be viewed on Tap In's QuickView console or web application. The web application also provides long term performance trend reports for any monitored metrics.
You can also use the Tap In platform for additional monitoring above MON metrics. Active checks can be executed from the Tap In server to other appliances. Examples of active checks include ping, http, TCP ports, database queries and web services calls. Tap In agents may also be used for monitoring distributed systems and forwarding events to the Tap In management server. Tap In's Control Plan function can be used to automate operational processes, such as trouble ticketing, configuration, notifications, etc.
Refer to the Tap In technical wiki for additional details on this integration.
